- Apologetics - Overview

<< back to details per network

Purpose:

In an increasingly secular society, where the church either has lost contact with the culture or lost the content of the gospel, the need for apologetics is urgent. A fresh presentation of the Christian faith and a persuasive argumentation and defense of its claims is much needed today. For years the apologetic work has been neglected in Europe and the few apologists working in different countries have often been left alone. The formation of a network for apologists in Europe is therefore crucial for the future of the church. The European Apologetics Network is the strategic initiative many of us have been praying and waiting for.
Stefan Gustavsson

The European Apologetics Network is a pivotal initiative bringing together hands-on apologists from all over Europe to be enthused, encouraged and better equipped in communicating the gospel effectively to this post-Christian generation.
Peter Saunders

Christianity is old, but the Gospel of Christ is new for each generation and it needs translation and application. We need to train the new generation of Christians in the art of persuasion. Therefore the initiative to create a network of Christian apologists is of utmost importance. It should be an instrument to support and strengthen and unite all the efforts of Christians in Europe to create the European Apologetics Network.
Wim Rietkerk

Post-Christian Europe is like a cut flower, severed from its Christian roots and withering rapidly. The European Apologetics Network has been raised up by God to speak meaningfully and persuasively to our dying culture. In gathering together apologists from across Europe we aim to lay the foundations for a vigorously Biblical and intelligent network of people and resources.
